Hi,

So our at-163 is refusing to record as programmed, so I am looking for another cheap STB that can record reliably to my 2tb hard drive. Any thoughts on the HW180stb vs the Sunkey SK-903h. Is either one better than the other? Is there a better option for HDTV ota recording?

Thanks

God bless...

The version of hw180stb that is currently shipping is v9, which has the same scheduling bug (and many others) as the sk-903h. The sk-903h should be able to use the v6 firmware from this thread http://www.avsforum.com/forum/42-hd...sb-recorders-supersonic-ikonvert-sc-57-a.html (I will be testing soon.) While this firmware is not perfect, it does solve most of the problems for scheduling, as discussed in the above thread. But even with this improvement, I would be hard pressed to recommend either, with a preference towards sk-903h. (I have one of each where I don't need a separate digital audio output.)

The iview 3500stb and homeworx hw150pvr both work well for me, but I do not have the current shipping versions. (I have one of each, because they have different remote control codes.)
