I blew out my sub!!!!!!

R.I.P JBL E250 Sub. 2/4/2005 to 11/05/2005.One day i was playing a song with a lot of bass and suddenly the JBL E250P Sub stopped and wouldn't work anymore. First i thought i was the amp because the Sub didn't smell like it was burnt out. It was the Sub itself so i took the sub out and put another one in temporarly. I had to use a Kenwood car subwoofer in place of what i had now. The JBL sounds tighter than the kenwood but the quality is still good. Should i get the original replacement part for the sub or get a car sub to put in?

Well . . . . . be more careful. Yes replace it with an exact same JBL unit. That way there is no question about matching impedance, frequency response, power rating, etc.
You may have just blown a simple fuse on that sub, why not take off the amp and check, it's fast and easy to see if a fuse is blown. Go to radio shack with the blown fuse, so they can match it and switch it out, total cost maybe 2.00 and 20 minutes of your time.

It is not the amp. He said he replaced the driver and then it worked. Others are correct that you need to be sure the driver that you install matches your amp.
Sorry my bad, It's what happens when i speed read through a post. Carry on.
