The Dell site did not apply a 20% discount to the projector when I used your link. There was some discussion from a couple days ago that indicated that projectors are not part of this promotion.

For the life of me I cannot get a coupon to come up. I am clicking on your link and I see where the offer link is but it takes me to a page that makes no mention of the 20% offer.

It works- click on my link, claim your coupon, click on monitors/projectors in upper right hand corner, add the projector of your choice to your basket and the 20% off will show up in your shopping cart

Jim-

I have not seen the projector myself and probably won't be getting one-from the interest in the unit and the comments it seems like it is a very good deal for 2200. I am a little turned off to it since the bulb is only 1000 hours, seems costly to replace, and it has no zoom which makes setup more difficult. Once set up though I think it offers tremendous viewing pleasure for the initial dollar outlay-

I think the best deal on the Dell site is the Mits X390 which comes in around 4300 with 20% off. This is a 2200 ansi lumen light cannon that allows full usage anytime of day with a great picture.

Another lurker here. I started my search for a projector two days ago. I started by just wanting to improve on the $6500

price I had locally last year on a Dreamvision DL-500. Boy was I in for a surprise. I was too late to get in on the

LT-150 super price, so I just ordered an Infocus LP530

with the 20% discount. 2000 lumens, 1600 saver mode, 2000 hour bulbs that cost $300.00, 1024x768, quiet fan. Once I took into

account the bulb price difference and the higher brightness

it looked like it was worth the ~3800 price. Free ground

shipping with orders over $100.00. Unfortunately they are

temporarily out of stock, so I will have to wait. This is

only a stopgap measure while I wait for the >2000 lumen,

16x9 dlp panel with 1080p native resolution for <$2000.00.

Since this projector will not exist for a while this looked

like a good way to wait.

Leckian,

Delving in the Dell small business section was very enlightening. Dell is competing, heavily, with online

a/v specialist companies in terms of price and selection.

If I read the coupon offer right, they have some handsome

alternatives to the LT150 at prices approaching dealer cost.

I think I might want to pay up a bit to get more features, especially zoom via remote control.

The Mitsu looks like a good deal but I'm committed to DLP for the foreseeable future. If Dell should find a way to discount the Sharp z9000, I might go for it.

Jim-

Unless you have to sit closer than 12 feet from the screen there is no reason to be committed to DLP in my opinion. I went from the LP350 to the Mits X390 and the improvement was very obvious. This is not to belittle the LP350 it is still a very nice projector-but the Mits and the Sanyo 21N are sharper and more detailed and the punch you get from the 2000+ lumens is compelling. The extra power gives you a picture that glows off the screen and I find that very pleasing.

I'm having the same problem as others. I click on the coupon link and am taken to another page with no mention of a coupon. Having you checked since the 28th? Maybe Dell caught a mistake and pulled the coupon.

It works! I cleared all my cookies and went through process again and I still received the 20% off. If they pulled the deal it seems to be likely they would remove the coupon: http://www.dell.com/us/en/bsd/topics...htm?DGVCode=EM

It has been mentioned that others have received the 20% via a telephone order if they say they tried to receive the discount online and it wouldn't show in their cart. First register as a small business before you call. Have you registered as a small business? Try registering then claim your coupon and see if it works. All I can tell you is that it working flawlessly for me.

I tried the link as well and it did not work either. I called dell up by phone and tried to order a Sony VPL-CX1 bulb for $273 thinking I'll get the 20% discount. This guy Scott was very rude and could find his head from his as*. He couldn't find the Dell part number (not listed on web site) and it took him 15' to find it. Then he could not find the coupon either as there was no coupon code until I gave him the above link. Then he left for 5 min. to talk to his supervisor and came back and offered 15% off since the 20% only applied to monitors, projectors, and "dell-branded" parts (bulbs are not Dell-brand) which was not specified anywhere on the 20% coupon link mentioned above. Then of course Dell charges you sales tax which comes out to be $250 which is only about $35 below street prices elsewhere on cnet price search. He called me cheap as I complained about not getting the full 20% discount as promised on Dell's web site and then the added sales tax. Oh, by the way he also said I had to be a business and made me give my business address/name to get this discount since it's under "small business". Thus is $35 savings worth it in face of probable long delays in shipping due to Dell's poor web site and stock management (of course the product was listed as "in stock" for whatever its worth). Thus, I cancelled the order as I got so frustrated with this guy at Dell. Just thought you may enjoy hearing about another poor customer service at Dell. His name was "Scott". I'd give my money to a more professional site with better customer service even if it'll cost me $30 more. I would save money in buying antacids due to stress dealing with Dell. They have lost me as a customer.
