It's the "Picture" on the main menu. The default setting is 2 which is the worst. When you change it to 1 or 3, the picture quality is much better. I can see all the shadow detail that I couldn't see before. Now the first fighting scene in "Crouching Tiger" (at night) looks so good.
I have owned this mp1800 for 2 months. This was the first time I tweaked with the Picture setting. What a pleasant surprise.
Have any other MP1800 owners tried the same thing?
