I hope this is the place to post this...


I have my computer connected to my main stereo using the digital output from my computer sound card. I want to connect to other recievers in my house directly from the computer (I don't want to have to go through my main system reciever) but I can't find a device that has one optical in and multiple optical outs.


Does this exist outside of a really expensive receiver?

Yes. I have seen both coax and optical distribution amps. If it is the coax, you may find that just a passive splitter will suffice for 2 or 3 outputs. I don't know the current fan-out of the device driving the output. In the old TTL days, it was a bunch. Get googleing.

Yeah, I've googled all over and I can't find anything other than those passive splitters (1 in 2 out). I guess I could try that, but I need 4 outputs. The reviews on the splitters on Amazon are pretty bad too though...
