I need a real comparison
I know this has probably has been asked in various ways...but...I am unable to find a simple straight forward answer to this question..
Which satellite service gives the best HD signal...and is it plain to see the visual difference when doing a side by side comparison ...this would be between D* & E*

Right now, D*.
E* is in the process of adding satellite capacity, but it's going to be awhile before it'll be ready for use for programming. As a result, they're still crushing the HD signals a lot. It's not as bad as D* was with the old MPEG2 stuff, but D*'s new MPEG4 stuff is much better. There's also more of it.
Keep in mind, that's just right now - 6 or 12 months from now, the tables could turn the other way.

I found a pretty old thread about it here.. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=704350 and was wondering how it stacked up today in most areas...I'm getting ready to switch from D* to E* because of some equipment issues they refused to help on..and lack of response to my inquiries...Not to mention they flat out lied to me on which equipment I could get when I upgraded...I hate having to go to the trouble to switch...but I really don't like the way they are doing business anymore...
