I would like to spend about $300. I'm thinking about a screen size of about 70" (measured like a TV) or so and in 16:9 format.

Can anyone help suggest one? I read a post in here about the Harkness Hall screen on my Panasonic L300U, but I have not seen any prices for it. I did a search and only came up with a PDF of spec's and no price or where to buy. But, according to that post, it was very good! I did write down the phone number.

Also, I will be buying some curtains to block out most all the light coming in through the windows so there will not be too much abient light and was thinking about getting some black curtains to hang behind the screen.

If you have any suggestions, please post them here.

Thanks!

Most either recommend the DaLite High Contrast Cinema Vision or the HiPower depending on your outcome desires. I have a HCCV screen in the Dallas area that is 16:9 and roughly 43" High by 77" wide (87" diagonal). It has a homemade steel frame that comes apart and a base. It looks first class. If you did not want the base I can easily cut it off. Price would run higher than the $300. Are you close to Dallas?

If you are the least bit handy you may want to try making a do-it-yourself (DIY) screen. Read the numerous posts here regarding blackout cloth (a white, completely opaque vinyl-backed cotton fabric made to line curtains to block light) and Parkland plastic as screen materials. With the light control you describe you will have no problem using either material with the PT-L300U. It is fairly easy to make a good screen for very little money (well under $50). I read a post the other day from someone who simply stapled a few yards of blackout cloth to his wall to use as a screen (this approach has a very low wife-approval factor:)).
