I am looking for a receiver $300-400 that will let me hook up everything we have which is a mix of hdmi, and composite and posibly an old vcr, and have the receiver do its upconverting or whatever, and output all the various signals through 1 hdmi going to the tv. I think we would only need 3-4 hdmi devices at max, and a composite or two, and possibly s-video for old vcr. ( Old movies and stuff of the kids growing up)
This is not needing to be a high end receiver, as this will be for the wife and we want it fairly simple. I did run across an Onkyo HT-RC260 searching on a few websites. We did buy a 3-d ready Mitsubishi 65" tv a few days ago, but not planning to go 3-d yet but would like the receiver capable so wouldn't have to buy another one. Also, does the receiver have to be on all the time or can she just watch tv sometimes with no receiver?
Will this work for us? Appreciate any responses. We farm for a living and we are not "geeks" lol. Thanks.
