I'm looking for cheap speaker stands, preferably $50 or less per pair if possible. They need to be able to fit a speaker that is 7.5" wide and 10" deep (HTD level 2's). They need to be at least 31" tall.

Any suggestions?

Those stands only support 2 lbs. - the HTD's are 11 lbs. each.

Is 5x5 inches too small for a 7.5x10 inch speaker? Maybe it would be best just to cough up the $100 for the stands HTD sells...

The top of the stand doesn't need to match the base of your speakers, they'll balance on a smaller stand just fine.

Studiotech does make nice stands, I wish they still made the SC24.

You might want to step up to the Sanus NF line, purely for aesthetics. I have the BF 16 for my center because the NF equivalent was 1" too tall, but I much prefer the aesthetics of the NF line. The BFs are about as basic as it gets. I may eventually try replacing the legs with some other material.
