I need help

303 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  silentnight702
Hey guys & gals,

I need some help. I am looking for a speaker system to go in my bedroom. My friend told me to get the Bose Acoustimass 15 but I've been hearing a lot of bad things about them. I need something about the same size as the Bose system though due to space and cost issues($1,000 -$1,500). I could really use some help. Thank you in advance.

Try a HSU Ventriloquist setup with a STF-2 Subwoofer and a Pioneer VSX-D912k receiver. Should cost well under a grand and sound better than any of the Bose Acoustimass or Lifestyle products...

CompUSA also sells the Ventriloquist/STF subwoofers (not sure about receiver).

Hey,

Thanks a lot. I'm going to go test it out tomorrow. Thanks again.

You can do better than Bose - no audio lover recommends them. It's a good thing you are doing research before buying - I am happier with my purchases this way.

Do you need small speakers? You mentioned that space is a concern.

Goodguys web sight has energy speakers that are good sounding.

Panasonic sa-xr45 receiver is slim and good sounding for $300.

LiteOn LVD is about $120 on the web and you got a better sounding system for about the same money.

If you can go with a bigger speakers, you can get Atheana as-1b for the front and back ( www.bestbuy.com $150), and a matching center. Add a sony sub sa-wm500 ($129 on ebay), and you have a good system even for music.

Might want to read hifi magazines to get more ideas: www.hifichoice.co.uk

I do need small speakers. About the same size as the bos if not a little bigger. I am also looking at the Kenwood VR-7070a for a receiver. Thanks.
