I watched Team America: World Police on my HD-A1 and was shocked how good it looked

It didn't look nearly so good via my Oppo that's unplugged now. Frankly, it just looked like another HD-DVD this time. Is it because of what it was shot on? I'm thinking it must be video based rather than film. I've never watched it's special features or I might know.... At any rate, I was amazed at how well the Toshiba rendered it. I suppose an actual HD version might make my nose grow long like Pinocchio's...?

Any rumors on this movie being a hi def release for either format this year? The only place I've seen this title mentioned was in the Blu-ray Software forum when the poster mentioned he/she saw a clip of Team America on a Blu-ray demo disk.

I'd love to have this title in hi def. I bet the marionettes would almost look 3d.
I just watched it in hd the other day. Hilarious.

No, it was a Super35 production.

I'll agree that this is a fantastic-looking DVD, though.

That settles that question. :)
Josh, do you think it looks so good because the lighting is always near optimum or their little sets? :)
I think it was probably a combination of perfectly controlled lighting and really sharp optics on the camera lenses they were using.

Also, because everything is smaller, the camera is closer making everything pretty much a closeup.

I was talking about the DVD, which is one of the best-looking transfers of a "live action" (meaning physical objects photographed on real sets) movie I've seen on that format.
There's nothing quite like HD puppet sex! :D
Matt Damon! Sorry, couldn't resist :) I agree with Robert on many closeups with optimal lighting give this dvd a great picture.
