Will the i5-520M have enough power to edit my AVCHD video? I don't need anything blazing fast. I just need to be able to playback smoothly and edit files at a reasonable speed. Since the i5-520M has hyperthreading, I'm hoping it would be powerful enough although it is only a dual core.

The i5-520M would be matched up to 4gb ddr3 and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M GPU with 512mb.

I could spend an extra $400 to get an i7 model, but I really don't want to spend it unless I absolutely have to.

Thanks.

Thanks. Yea, this is a laptop. My current laptop doesn't have a chance with HD content, so I wanted to be sure the i5 would be enough. I don't care too much about render times (at that point I would build an i7 desktop), so as long as the programs run smoothly, I'll be happy.

I've had my Canon HF10 for about 10 months but without a capable computer!!!
