I finally got around to buying rear speakers and due to the fact that they are not satellite small, and the wife factor, I plan on placing them on stands. My concern is that my young kids, their visitors, or my dogs could tip over the stands that I am looking to purchase. I have seen thicker stands but again, the wife factor comes into play.

Is there a solution for securing stands to the floor, and in this case, a hardwood floor?

I have seen it done with picture wire. Put a screw in each end and mount it over the base or around the post. Not to sure If I would ruin the hardwood though.

You could always mount it the the wall with the same method.

My not be the most practical way but if your stuck it just may be worth saving the speakers.
