Ideas to get duct tape residue off duratex
Got a older hsu sub with the duratex finish, and the guy used duct tape all over it to tape cardboard over the speaker to move it. Any idea how to get the tape residue off?

WD40 gets glue off everything but I can’t promise it won’t remove any duratex. You could try it in a small inconspicuous spot and see. I’ve used it on my vehicles and it didn’t eat the clearcoat or paint.

What I use to get tape residue off of things is actually other tape - packing tape or masking tape. I do it by making a tape loop (sticky side out), and lightly tap the surface with enough pressure to make contact to stick to the surface, and quickly lift the tape up - the tape should grab onto the residue, and lift it off of the surface. It takes a few times to get it to lift off sometimes. Not knowing what kind of surface duratex is, do it in an inconspicuous spot first.
It's gentle enough, and doesn't use any chemicals that could eat away at the finish.

I believe that it's the vegetable oil that does the work. The emulsifier just keeps it from running.
I have used it to remove the residue from the stickers that auto dealers put on new cars they've sold. (I always peel them off. I don't care to advertise where I bought my car.)
I can't swear that it won't attack Duratex, but I know of no gentler solvent that would be of any use.

Goo-Gone, citrus based. NOT Goof. I think my lawnmower would run off that stuff.

You're gonna need more duratex.
