Hey guys, I'm running an SA3250HD with firewire to PC with XP SP3

This is my first try at capturing HD content through this method. All I can say is CRASH! At best, these new drivers freeze VLC, or at worst, out right blue screens when I try to use Sony Vegas v9 while loading. Until today, never EVER had a crash with this PC. Scary stuff.

I followed the installation instructions on Tim M Moore's page ( home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbfirewire/ ).

Could it be the sequence of power ups; SA3250 before, after PC boot up???

Any ideas

Thanks

I managed to record of the SA3250HD with "controlled" crashes. It seems that there is a conflict when the application loads the SA3250HD drivers. This happens with ALL recording software (Sony Vegas, Corel Studio, VLC and to a lesser extent CAPDVHS). I will try different drivers in the package I downloaded. Also, with CAPDVHS, I wonder if there's a channel selector to be entered. I recorded fine from Discovery HD but could not from HDNET channel.... Encryption maybe or just a channel field that needs to be entered?
