What other failures in the manufacturing train will result? Was this made in China? Huge mistake for Hitachi ,since the unit did not have it ,yet the official site said it did. It is really unheard of. See post below for a full link explanation on the new Hitachi DVDR. With no rear s-video input-incredible. This will be a recall- similar to the Chevy Chevette in 1972-3.

There won't be a recall. It's not defective, just missing a feature. If someone is in the market for a recorder, hopefully they'll notice this before they buy it and vote with their wallet or just move on. Could have possibly competed with the JVC DR-MV1, I guess. But since I already have an MV1 , I'm not going to sleep over a missing s-video jack... In fact, two threads on the this topic are at least one too many (you already made the same point in the previous thread), and I'm sorry I'm encouraging you Houston Guy.
