I finally got mine out today after some work. In case anyone else is having issues with stripped screw heads and feels like they are stuck, this is what I did:
1) Use a 3/32" hard metal drill bit
2) Drill out the stripped head of the screw just past its original depth
3) Use a torx (like a gear spoke) head to unscrew the screw.
4) Replace drive and screw back in.
5) Pop in PS3 and format the drive (took under 10 seconds)
I did lose a screw from drilling down too far, but the drive is secure with three.
