Just look at the room all that fancy-schmancy equipment calls 'home.' No diffusing elements? Minimal absorptive elements? No bass traps or resonators that I can see? Hardwood floors and practically bare walls... yep, those weights and wire thingamajiggy's are surely giving him sonic nirvana.
I read some of his review. Most of it actually. I like his writing style... fairly effective in covering up the lunacy of what he is saying. But it was a hopeless from the beginning... he equated the unending and often compulsive quest for perfection in auto racing performance to the undending and often compulsive quest for perfection in audio reproduction. Not too bad, if he hadn't included the equipment rack as a legitimate part of that quest. Minute changes in race car design or setup have measurable effects... I know, I've done it. Where are the measurable effects from minute (or even massive) changes in equipment rack design? Where is the equivalency he claimed was there?
Again, with his description near the end of the hardly subtle effects (instantly louder, more accute, much deeper soundstage, etc.), it should be quite easy to measure the cause of those audible differences. Unless... no...
