I'm a dolt! Can NE1 help me w/ ReVue?

I'm trying to use ReVue 1.1 alpha 5. My goal was to start off easy and just use it as a front end for RTV Tools. After seeing what it can do, I think I want to get a little more involved with it after I get past this minor speedbump.

Anyway, I still want to start off using it as a front end for RTV Tools. So, I go to preferences and setup my path to RTV Tools. No problem.

I then open a RTV converted mpeg (TMPGEnc with RTV Template). No problems here either. Everything looks good.

The are no commercials to edit in the file, so what what I can gather, I go to Create New Video next.

Here I am selecting Off (Play Everything) for the AutoSkip Feature and Steaming MPEG as the Output.

When I click the Create button, it says the video is ready.

Now what? Here's where I am stuck. I don't see where it's created the additional evt or nxd files I need to import the show into the RTV with DVA.

The only save features I see are for show information and for show template.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

In the Local_Guide directory you'll see 3 new files. 'samefilename RTV.mpg / .ndx / .evt'

so if the file name of the show was 'foobar', you'll have a show called 'foobar RTV.mpg' plus the associated evt and ndx files

You need to export the file in DVArchive (export foobar) and then rename the exported XML file to 'foobar RTV.xml' then copy that, and the 3 other files, into a temp directory. When you import all the show information will be valid.

This is if the original source file is from the RTV, right? I'm looking to convert an mpeg from another source. There are no index or event files.

I know when I use RTV Convert @ the command prompt it generates these. My problem is I can't figure out how to get ReVue to act properly as a front end for RTV Tools.

Thanks,

Craig

Uncheck the "Remove temp files when done" in the Create New Video file and post (or email me) the .tmp file that reVue creates. I'll take a look and see what's wrong. --Ken
Ken,

I PMed you, but I guess that didn't work. I also can't find your email address anywhere.

I'm looking for the source to save some time while trying to reproduce the revue functionality for Mac OS X.

Is there any chance I can get that from you?

Thanks

James

This looks like a really fantastic ap. The interface looks very slick. Anyway, back to my problem.

I unchecked the remove temp files when done option, but can't seem to locate a temp file anywhere. Perhaps this is an associated problem, I don't know. I looked in both the ReVue directories and the directory with the file I want to convert. Actually, I scanned all drives for a .tmp file and didn't really see anything that looked like it applied.

Do you think I should try and older version?

Thanks for your help,

Craig
