I'm in the market to replace my 54" rear projection tv. I want to get a 1080i or 1080p plasma, DLP or LCD. I'm looking to stay in the same size area, and I recently got PS3 and all the games are HD, so I would like to get a device to appreciate the HD hardware. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I was leaning towards the 65" DLP, but again I'm cluesless on brands and quality....I like the plasma's too so I could use some guidance and advice. thx krs

Take a look at a Pioneer PDP-6070HD amazing quality and reasonably priced for what you are getting. Many satisfied clients.

Very Curious...

Any particular reason why you only recommend Pioneer Plasmas???

Yeah, I mean Pioneer's, which do look very good (in some ways better than Panasonic's), do not quite have the black levels of the current Panasonic's and, on average, cost twice as much (well at least the 42" models that I have compared). Panasonic may not have the absolute best color reproduction but the blacks are a tad better, I hear there is less chance of burn-in, and the difference in price is huge. I would not recommend Pioneer until the new 8th generation models come out, I think only then will Pioneer's Plasma's be worth those high prices.

soloist3, that's ok for regular Members.

But RomanInvision represents a Company (Invision Displays) that also sells other Plasma Brands such as LG, NEC, Hitachi, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung and Sony. And yet He has never recommended any of these Brands on his posts. Not even once. I find this very odd.

Oops, I did not see that, also, I guess I was wrong about the price difference I went from Wal-Mart's price, for the Panasonic, and Best Buy's price for the Pioneer. There really is only about an $800 price difference (so I guess it is more like 2/3 or so more), still pretty outrageous.

Can't really blame him due to the profit margin.

He should at least be suggesting Panasonics along with the Pioneers.

It is possible he feels this is THE best choice out there.
