So I'm finishing my basement and a section is going to be an entertainment area (simply flat panel TV wall mounted, speakers, etc....nothing crazy). So let me first start by saying that upstairs I in my family room, I have a wall mount LCD, Onkyo SR-606 with DVD and FIOS cable box hooked in.

Upstairs in my bedroom, I just have a simple small wall mount LCD with just a cable box...so I have 2 FIOS cable boxes.

Back to the basement....I really don't want to fork over cash for another cable box so that I can watch a different channel in the basement than in the family room. I guess my first question is what are my options to use existing cable boxes to have a signal in the basement? I'll have an area in the basement for my A/V equipment so I can have a receiver/cable box/etc down there. Right now all of my cable runs from outside into my basement into a GE Security panel and my wireless modem sits on top of that.

I'll probably put my Wii in the basement and perhaps another DVD player but I plan on installing speakers either freestanding or in-wall.....so I'm assuming another receiver is necessary. My second question is more of advice on what equipment to buy. I'm not looking to blow the roof off the place, just give me nice sound and performance. So I'm looking for receiver and speaker recos, preferably staying around the $1500-$2000 area or less.

Thanks in advance
