I'm trying to make sure I understand this all correctly before I buy any blank DVDs; please correct any incorrect assumptions I have:

1) The ImageMixer software that comes with the Canon cams only writes to DVD+R (including dual layer); not DVD-R.

2) Vegas will write to DVD-R and DVD+R; including dual layers of both. (Will Vegas let you do menus, titles, chapters, etc. when you burn DVDs - HD and SD?)

3) PS3 will play DVD-R AND DVD+R dual layer discs.

It seems to be much harder to find dual layer DVD-R (versus dual layer DVD+R) discs and they cost more too. I'm thinking about getting Vegas so I can buy DVD+R dual layer discs.)

I'll start....

1. No, Pixela will only write to the '-' type discs.

2. No idea as I don't use it.

3. PS3 will play - and + SL and +R DL. Not sure on the -DL as I've never had any.

I personally never use editing software to burn disc. I output a video file or iso, and use Imgburn to burn the disc, and it does a much better job. And you won't be limited to what type of disc the editing software can use.
