I've been unable to successfully display a 16:9 image on my PJ using my HTPC (Dell Notebook).
I'm attempting to play one of the Windows Media Player 9 movies (i.e. The DVD-Rom version of "Coral Reef Adventure" in HD).
All these movies come with two discs (a DVD version and the DVD-ROM HD version). Both discs are supposed to play 16:9 Wide-screen pictures.
The DVD version plays perfectly, it fills the whole 16:9 screen with no stretch on my Notebook PJ setup. But when I play the DVD- ROM HD version my PJ gets confused and stretches the image within what appears to be a 8.5 aspect ratio (has bars above and below the picture).
For what it's worth, the Notebook displays both discs perfectly on it's internal 16:9 screen.
Has anyone been able to play these movies on your HTPC setup (i.e. PC using a Front Projector), and if so can you share your setup with me, or perhaps someone has some suggestions on how to solve this problem?
