I know the standard answer has always been that replaytv requires

a nonstandard mpeg format. Is anyone actively working on reverse

engineering that format? Surely someone has the technical savvy

to do this. I would be willing to help in any way I can, but digital

video is a really complicated world, so I know this is not easy. It sure

seams like there would be a ready market for a commercial tool and

an open source version would bestow eternal gratitude and godlike

status upon the developer.

Me too, I'm be willing to help.

Mind you, I'm hoping that eventually the replays will play standard MPEGS real soon from PC's etc.,

I know that we keep posting this link, but given the number of requests for this type of functionality, the buzz for mytv is incredibly small. It would be cool to get this integrated into DVArchive, or Womble, or other tools. Or help this developer test/expand the program. But, mentioning mytv is the kiss of death for a thread, it seems. Nothing follows it.

I need to try and contact the mytv developer, but I haven't been able to

make it work for me. I converted and demultiplexed the source according

to his directions but it just fails immediately saying the video is bad. If this

is the only game in town, I'll keep pursuing it. I did notice somewhere it

says it only can handle up to 5 minutes and I was trying to do a 30 minute

clip.
