I live in Sweden.

Anyone has experience from importing these players to Europe ?

Are they available from GB or germany?

If importing from the USA, are they compatible with the standard European power net, ~220-230 volt?

Can they play PAL DVD's ?

No and No for 240V/50Hz compliance right out of the box (you need a step down transformer - and a good one at that).


No and No for PAL output unless you get them region hacked.


NO and NO for PAL Progressive unless you get them PAL Progressive hacked (not sure if possible).


A better choice would be Philips 962SA from Asia: 240V/50Hz right out of the box, can be hacked to region free and PAL prog by yourself with a learning remote (instructions in this forum, use search) + PQ equal or better than RP-56/K5700 (except for the chroma bug) + support for SACD and decent cd playback. You'll also get global Philips warranty and no hassles with step down transformers.

pal progressive, multizone.


Seems like a safe bet
