With upscaling, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and who knows what else DVD players like my Denon DVD 2200 seen destined for the attic. Or, could I be too hasty. Does anyone know of a way to improve upon the video performance of the Denon DVD 2200?
DVE Digital video essentials,AVIA dvd calibration disc or Sound and vision hometheater tune up have video test patterns so you can properly adjust any display properly.
The 2200 has excellent PQ (same PQ as the 2900). IMO, at this point in time, it makes most sense to either keep it for now (yes, you can optimize PQ with a calibration DVD), or trade it in for a true high def player (Toshiba A2 HD-DVD, a Blue Ray player, or the LG player coming out soon that plays both formats), rather than an upscaling player. Just my 2 cents.
