Currently using the IMX on a Sharp DW100 1024x768 LCD. Think it works great - does not completely remove the pixel grid, but mutes it greatly without a loss of sharpness.

There have been a few threads about them pro and con, you may want to do a few searches.

Good luck,

CucMan
Please note that their are more than one versions of the lens.

The 735 I believe is the new model that was of better design than the ones Cygnus was making a couple of years ago.

The ones a few years ago worked similar to slight defocusing of the image.

I have only seen one set of pictures of someone with the 735 in action. It looked pretty good but he had troubles with one corner of the image having too much or too little interpolation.

Hope that helps.

When you have a minute take a look at this site:

http://www.zuggsoft.com/house/imx.htm

This particular lens is on a Sanyo PLV-60, and there are before and after pictures for comparison.

(this is not my site, so any questions should be directed to the site owner)
I thought the new models are the 930's and they don't mention defocusing but splitting or quadrupling the pixels imaging(not the amount of fisical pixels). Is the 735 models from the same companies?
Holy [email protected]*%, a Mr. Wiggles post on this thread! I'm honored - seriously. Anyway, I have the IMX-932VTS - I think one of the big differences between this and the old ones is that the new one has all glass optics and the older ones used some form of plastic lenses.

The images on the zuggsoft web site look really impressive, but now the question is how can I get one of these devices.

The web site has one ordering option, fill out the form and submit your credit card over a non-secure page.

I've emailed them twice to get more info and gave them my phone numbers so they could call me. They have not responded.

Any ideas?

[Good to see Mr. Wigggles back on the forum.]

I meant the 930 series, sorry. The old series might have been 730

wrong again, wigggles :)

They all start with 9xx...there was the 910, 920, and now 930. (Actually, I don't know about the 920 line.)
Isn't this the same company that is that is giving everyone the run around with the panamorph? I would be leary of sending any money their way at the moment. I personally had one of their first depixelizer lens for my Sharp 35H projector and it just defocused the picture to much. With the XGA projectors now just a small defocus of the projector should get the same effect as the lens. Just my 2 cents.

Cucman do you have the 930"s series? and how did you get them? They haven't even aswered myt Emails. I wouldn't mind try one, don't care my credit card is well proteced from frauds. Rick
Cucman,

I have the same projector - DW100U and use the Cygnus lens as well. I'm using the 911VT model. This is probably the "plastic" version, but it works great. I see no screen door and no pixels, unless I walk up real close.

I used the same lens on an older Sharp (800x600 - I think David's got that one) and it was really necessary for that one. With 1024x768 I found you have to use a binoculars to make the adjustments because the pixels are so much smaller. It does not defocus the picture at all.

I was planning to get it modified by Shawn to fit the smaller lens of the DW100, but I didn't want to give it up for even a week. I'm not sure he's willing to do it anymore, given recent events. I just stuff little rubber pieces in there to hold it snug :).

Rick,

Yes I have the 932 VTS, and I got a major deal on this one - it was the one Tom Strade used on his DW100U. He sold it to me over the forum, and get this, he had his sent to the factory and they send me a brand new one.

As far as Cygnus goes, I wouldn't give up just yet. Obviously ther're going through some tough times - but I assume they have these in stock. You could also try a post for a used one in the AVS Classifieds section.

Good Luck!
