Hi All

I am putting an addition on my house and I am going to be installing some dayton in-ceilings for background music in my house.

Before I but them I have been trying to figure out the best way to install, and all the instructions I can find seem to be for retrofitting into existing walls by cuting through the drywall.

I would like to install them even before the drywall goes up so I don't have to worry about remembering the location of the studs and wires, but I cannot seem to find anything about how to go about doing that.

I know for my can lights that have extendible arms that all them to be secure directly to the joists, but I cannot seem to find anything similar for speakers.

Can anyone send me in the right direction?

You can purchase mounting brackets or enclosures and attach them to the trusses before dry-wall. You install the speakers after the dry-wall in up and painted.

Whatever speakers your installing should have them as an accessory

You can not pre-install speakers in the ceiling before the drywall is up. You can run the wire, place a piece of carboard tie wrap it to the trusses where the speaker will be.

You want to install the speaker after the drywall is up and painted.

dont waste money on mounting brackets since they are not needed for general in-ceiling speakers. The speakers themselves have clips that fit nicely on the other side of the drywall. The drywall holds the speaker easily.

I have 26 in-ceiling speakers in my house, I installed every one of them myself. Make sure you have the speaker wire hanging down and the guys installing the drywall will cut a hole for the speaker wire.

Those links don't seem to be working. Do you have the part #? I have been all over the parts express site, and I cannot find them.

Thanks

EDIT:

Nevermind, I found them here:
