So my wife and I are planning a new house and in the living-room there will be a TV but the 5.0 will need to be inwall. (Planning for a separate media room system discussion is elsewhere
). The 5.0 will be crossed at 80Hz to either one or two Salk/Rythmik subs.

The living-room will be sunken by 2 steps, and the speakers will have to fit in that space.

The two key contenders at this point are:

1. KEF Ci200RR

Reference series, 8 inch co-ax, 90db sensitivity.

The thought would be to build custom, front-ported boxes for these and install them in the wall,

2. Tannoy DC8i

Definition series, 8 inch coax, 92 db sensitivity.

These come in front-ported boxes, so ready to install.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these speakers? Feedback, thoughts, other suggestions?

Thanks.

Also, I have looked at Triad's site, but think these are likely too tall.

Design is not yet finalized, but 2 steps are generally about 15" - so I will likely be limited to about 12" in height, I should have a certain amount of play in the other directions.
