I want to go with in-wall speakers in my living room, but I have an issue with where to place the speakers. Below is a picture of my room, and I have marked where I plan to place round speakers and my tv. (I think I made the TV a little too big in the diagram.
)
It's that top left corner with the curved archway that is making me lean towards round speakers. I want to use 8" units, maybe Phoenix Gold, and use 5.5" for the side and rear channels. I am a total noob when it comes to even "nice" audio/video so I am open to suggestions about everything. I have a 47" Visio LCD, and an Onkyo HT-R550 7.1 reciever.
So should I go with round speakers where I indicated in the picture, or do something else? Put all the front speakers surrounding the TV, and use regular rectangular in wall units instead of ceiling speakers?
Any input is appreciated.
