I am trying to install a set of inwall speakers in the rear of the room for a 7.1 setup. The back of my room is opened though leading to the upstairs. I am unsure of the proper placement given the area I have. Attached is the pic of my room.


The speakers themselves are 11"h x 7 9/16"w. I have plenty of room height wise. I just don't know if I should "squeeze" both of them in on the longer wall, or place one in the closet wall and the opposite. Please let me know any pointers.

You may have to go "in ceiling" if possible. What kind of speakers are you using?

Is it feasible to go with a 6.1 setup in that situation?

I am using the Polk RC55i (image attached). I am trying to avoid in ceiling because of the work involved with it.


How far are they supposed to be spread out in a room like this is my question??

How much difference is there really between a 7.1 and 6.1 setup in a room of this size?
