I will be upgrading my dual lnb dish to the Hughes HSYSE8674 package. This package contains a 4X4 Multiswitch (Channel Master I assume?). I already have wires ran for my current system, so I would like to know, can I hook up my multiswitch outside by the dish without having to worry about it shorting out?

P.S.-- The two wires for my system now, both enter in two seperate areas of the house; which is why I cant put the multiswich inside without having to rerun one of the wire through the house again.

Any feedback will be helpful.

The 4x4 multiswitch that came with my Sony 24" elliptical dish is designed to mount on the back of the dish, so I'd have to assume that it's designed to weather the elements. The RCA 24" dish in the store looked exactly the same. The Hughes is probably the same, as I understand that they're all made by Channel Master.

If you're only going to use two leads, it would definitely be easier and cheaper to mount the multiswitch at the dish.
