Hello,

I’m looking to install a sound system in my just recently built indoor pool area.

Can normal speakers and subwoofers be used put in water and humidity protecting cases? Any brand or example recomendations?

Not really on a budget with this project, as I intend to install what’s necessary for quality and safety now in the beginning and not have to worry about it more.

Every pool room I have been in has suffered from terrible echoes from all of the hard surfaces in the room. I would look into adding some rockwool absorption panels to address the awful acoustics. Rockwool is hydrophobic so it should be mold resistant in that humid environment. I'm not sure what fabrics to use other than Dacron sail cloth. I'm sure an internet search for mold resistant fabrics will turn up plenty of info.

I have a pair of Definitive Technology AW 6500 speakers outside. They've held up well for a few years and they have good bass extension due to the passive radiator design.

Any bass reflex speaker (ported) will be prone to problems in a harsh environment because the back side of the driver is essentially exposed. So, yeah, go with outdoor or marine speakers.
