I was wondering if anyone has had issues using regular indoor speakers on a covered back porch. I have a spare set of JBL S38s and I would like to use them in my backyard, but its been a pain bringing them in every night.
You are putting indoor speakers outside. Don't expect them to last very long. I would think that the first thing that will happen is the material the cabinet is made out of will absorb water (every morning, it's called dew) and swell up like a tick on a dog. Then the connections will corrode so that all you will hear is some nice crackling static. They will truly make some spiders a very nice home. Other than that it will work for a while.
Good point about the connections corroding, I hadn't thought about them possibly being different on indoor vs outdoor speakers. I guess the S38s will have to go somewhere else and get new outdoor speakers
