Yep, it's me again - still bitching about Relay's lack of Channel Guide updates and frequency. As of Sat. night I was waiting for a few Channel Guide updates via TMS since there was quite a few changes lately to some shows I watch. This morning TiVo behaved perfectly. Replay? Ha! Let's see:
a) The World Series is over. Been done since Thursday night. TiVo is showing the regular Fox lineup tonight. Replay? Still got World Series listed. TiVo-1, Replay-0. (Replay also showed WS listings Sat. night - I don't know about TiVo)
b) TiVoTakes moved time/day/channel next week. TiVo correctly shows the new time. Replay? Nope. TiVo-2, Replay-0. (Note: TiVo should have updated itself Thursday night to work w/ the airing of TiVoTakes but it didn't)
c) Grosse Point announced on Friday that it was moving to Sunday nights. TiVo updated. Replay has not yet. TiVo-3, Replay-0.
d) Tucker on NBC has been cancelled (it used to air Monday). TiVo removed it from listings. Replay did not. TiVo-4, Replay-0.
Anyone else think this sucks? I sure do!
Not to mention 9 days after downloading the updates to the Zones, the ReplayTV Presents thing STILL doesn't work.
Now...if I can once again talk about something I have numerous times in the past: cutting off description listings.
Can someone at ReplayTV explain HOW the display chooses where to cut off. I'm getting really upset trying to figure this out...it seems there's no rhyme or reason to it - not character length, number of words, doesn't seem to limit the amount of actors names - as those are quite different sometimes.
WHY does Replay sometimes cut off "earlier" than others? Sometimes descriptions go to the second line...sometimes not...
And a suggestion? Don't cut off in the middle of a word! If Replay can't fit the whole word it should stop BEFORE that word. It looks incredible sloppy to split words - especially when visually you can clearly see a TON of space left.
End rant.
But...I'd still hope SOMEONE from Replay can admit:
a) Why such things like the World Series listings weren't updated
b) HOW Replay decides when/where to cut off descriptions
