Infinity 263 vs JBL Studio 590 vs Polk LSiM 707 vs JBL HDI 3600

Hello all,

[EDIT] - I am pivoting mid-thread. I am starting to look at other options now. I like "deals" and am looking at options for all the above speakers. The prices are different with 263 < 590 < LSiM < HDI. From 263 ---> 590 it is twice the cost. From 590 ---> LSiM it is not quite twice the cost. From LSiM ---> HDI it is 60% or so more.

I really like bang for the buck. With the 50% deal, the 590 is the best bang for the buck. Without the deal, the LSiM is the best bang for the buck. If I can get the LSiM for a little cheaper, then it moves into the top spot regardless of the deal. I am hard pressed to find the value for the HDI. Please remember the above evaluation is my subjective take on value for money and very little to do with anything else.

Thanks.

I have a C2+ center and a 3700H AVR. Right now I have Infinity 253 L and R. Is the studio 590 really 2 x as good as the 263?

Thanks.

Just mho here .. but I'm not impressed at all w/ the Infinity towers. Center is nice, but for music Infinity is just not very good. JBLs are much better. My issue with the JBLs is that they look horrible. Don't wanna look at that hole every day, lol .. goatsy ptsd and animal anus. I can't unsee those speakers. Sounds nice though!

As long as you don't have a super bright room or glaring white lights, the JBL Studio 5s actually look much nicer in the wild than on the website. I was shocked when my wife, who I thought would gripe about them, said that my 570s are actually "elegant-looking!"

Depends on your personal preferences/tastes---the Infinitys are widely described as being a bit on the "bright" side while the JBL 5s are more "forward" than "bright" and even this "forward" quality can be lessened by using a sharp toe-in (45-60 degrees) if desired.

Free return shipping from JBL means it'd cost you nothing to find out for yourself, though.

I strongly prefer my 590s to my 263's. I keep my 263s downstairs and use my 590s upstairs because I have atmos enabled that fit perfect to the 263s and the 590s have a curve that won't hold those atmos speakers

Can't do ceiling down there I don't think

Exactly what I am looking for....
You can always just buy them and see (hear) for yourself! With JBLs generous return policy you really have nothing to lose.

Yeah - I'm not a big fan of doing that. I am a little old school that way. Returning a perfectly good product seems wrong to me. I bought it, it's mine now....

Well, think about all the extra FedEx drivers you'd be helping to employ, and the extra re-packing and "refurbishing" workers at the stateside JBL warehouse. :) :) :)

Does anyone know how the 590s compare to the Emotiva T2+? Just curious cause OP said he has the C2+ and the 590s and T2s are same price.

Only same price during rare sales , horn vs amt + midrange . Lotta speaker for 1k
If any other brand made t2 they would be 1k ea or more . So probably very close , could end up a tie wouldn’t wena pay fee to return t2. You’d probably end up keeping both , both are better then what I’m using .

In JBL's world, the bigger Darth Vader's arse gets - the better they sound. I have a collection of all sizes throughout the house. The Force is strong with this one.

A simple fix for anyone who loves the sound of the Studio 5xx but hates the sight of the gaping bilateral horn is to wrap the top of the speaker with black spandex which is acoustically transparent and will be a close match to the black grill cloth that covers the woofers. The best option is to learn to love the look of the horn that produces the sound you love. ;)

if someone can afford m2 they won’t hide it ... cost as much as some used /new cars 🚗 ..
Wonder why Klipch traxic horn is so much smaller then jbl studio series?
I actually find the JBL Studio 5s' horn aperture to be kind of sexy because they're more female looking, whereas the one on Molon's JBL (don't know the model) could belong to the backside of a morbidly obese person from either gender, ugh. :D
