I am spending about $400 on a pair of floorstanding speakers to play mostly music. Said in another way, movie sound isn't awfully important to me.
After doing a whole lot of research I have narrowed it down to two speakers:
1. Infinity Primus p362
2. EMP Tek E5TiR
They both seem to offer sound quality comparable to speakers significantly above their price level.
* The E5TiR won the 2009 product of the year award at audioholics.
* The p362's seem to be recommended by a lot of "experts".
I greatly appreciate any input on this. (PS: if you think another pair in the same price range would be better then feel free to suggest).
Thanks a lot!
EDIT: In case it is relevant to my question I wanted to add that I am going to buy either the "Sony STR-DH800 7.1-Channel Audio Video Receiver" or the "Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V" (which is better than the Sony). I have not looked into any subs yet, as i didn't think it would be too important for the clarity and crispieness of the sound, and didnt want a distorting bass to take the focus from the music.
