Hopefully someone can shed some light on this subject for me. I get requests all the time for transcoders but I don't know very much about them as far as what brand is high quality and which brand to avoid! I'd like to find some in the $100-200 range if that is possible! Thanks in advance, and if anyone has some to sell, please send me a PM or email  Oh, in case it matters, I'm mainly seeking component to RGBHV transcoder for use with "older" CRT projectors that do not have a component input.

Good luck with that (price range)! Actually, your best bets are Petr's transcoder or Mike's MP-5. Search this forum for "Petr" and "MP-5" and you will find alot of info.

The key digital seems to be a good choice from what I've researched so far and it sells for around $300. That's a bit high but if I search around I'm sure I could find one in the $250 range.

And yes, that is a picture of a real CRT burn, we still have it sitting around because of the cool map pattern burned into it! :D

Top notch.

Key Digital KD-CTCA3 http://www.copperbox.com/lite/popinf..._code=KD-CTCA3

(supposedly, the earlier Key Digital boxes are to be avoided)

(and I've never tried the cheaper Audio Authority transcoders available at copperbox, but I've read more bad comments than good)

Neither, he saw it at a few local gatherings, and we had one with us at his open house.

We're planning on doing a second gathering at Clarence's, but that will happen after I finish working on the boards for his other Marquee and switcher, and by then, an MP-5 should be a fixture in his system.

I've not sent out a that many units so far, with still more to go. Things were put on hold, because I've had a problem with the units syncing on 720P on the final boards. So that held up things for a awhile. And doing the process of fixing the sync problem we've also made a few other changes. Things have been slow but the wheels are still turning, and I'm even more excited about the units I'm preparing to send out :)

I meant to ask, does that tube have sinusoidal tracks burned into it also? (Orbits are often shown sinusoidal, are they not?)
