Hoping someone can help.....

I have an infocus 7200. When I power down the unit and the fan has stopped the power light will begin to flash and make a clicking noise.

Any ideas whats going on?

Thanks in advance.

I sent mine into ProjectorDoctor.com and they said my ballast was out and replaced it to the tune of $500. They sent it back to me and it worked about 6 weeks and then started with the clicking again. Needless to say, I'm a bit pissed about the whole thing. I'm going to send it back to them again. I think it has something to do with the power supply. Try unplugging it and letting it set for a while before plugging it back in. Sometimes it will click slower and slower (like something is discharging) and then finally reset itself. I was able to do this for about 1 month and still use it, but now it won't reset and just clicks and clicks. Let me know what you find out. Any information you get from your repair center may help me. I'll let you know what my place says also.

It looks like they were programmed to die in the 3,000+ hour range.

Anybody up for a class action lawsuit?

I ended up sending my projector into Infocus for repair...cost $600 with shipping and it got fixed. They did not tell me what they did....nor what was causing the problem. Would I do it again.....for $600 probably not....spend the money on a new one.

I called Infocus, but they just send me to India where they told me to shake my lamp and make sure there is no dust...Called in two more times and they told the same thing, then told me to send it in for repair. I'm not paying $500 - $600 to get it repaired. I read on another thread to try and update/reload the firmware. I'm going to buy the m1 to usb cable and see if that works. I'll let you know.

If your problem is the same as mine the problem was probably a power issue. I could not get the projector to boot at all..it just clicked and would not start up. So not sure how you could redo the firmware. Is it a different clicking noise?

And I agree do not pay the repair fee. They just have one flat fee and do not tell you what they did to fix it....which I think is wrong.

Well, my 7200 will also not power up.
Similar symptoms to above. Anyone been able to get this fixed for less than $500-$600? I don't have the cable to attempt the firmware upgrade but then I don't see how it will work if it does not power on...Trying to figure out what to do with football starting in one week...

Did you ever get the Infocus fixed? My 7200 just died on me the other day. The picture went black and it started making the clicking noises.

I did finally get my projector fixed. It ends up that the clicking noise was caused by a faulty power supply. Projector Doctor fixed it. As they had originally misdiagnosed it, they charged me only for the parts and no labor. I thought that was a fair compromise.

Otherwise, I understand the repair runs about $500.
