I'm looking for a projector to be table mounted 6 to 8 feet from my screen (a wall actually). The picture will be 4 to 6 feet diagonally which is fine for me (I currently have a 27" TV). The LP260 is now in the $2000 range. I'm also considering the LT150 which has had its price come down to something I might be able to afford.


Am I insane to think of the LP260 for home theater at these distances or will it look good?


How DVD's look is my primary concern. I currently have an interlaced DVD player and will eventually get a progressive DVD player.


Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the LP260, but I can tell you that the Sharp M10S (an SVGA semi-clone of the LT150) is very good also. And can be had new for $1800.

PeterF, does the LP260 have component inputs? if not, you won't be able to connect a progressive dvd player to it. I know that the more expensive LP340 and LP350 don't have component ins. Just S-video unless you use an HTPC.
