Infocus service problem - a very happy ending

639 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Threecard
I'm posting this in its own thread so that my comments won't be 'lost' in the tail end of my original thread on this issue. Because of the outcome noted below, I feel that Infocus deserves a thread with a positive title. If the moderator disagrees, feel free to merge these two threads.

Well, spoke with Infocus this morning concerning the two months that my pj has been going through the service 'wash and spin' cycle. I calmly laid out the service history (which I had detailed in this forum), explaining my disappointment with Infocus service to this point, and my frustration at being without my beloved pj for all this time. The rep could not have been nicer, expressing his own disappointment that I had had this experience. While I won't go into detail, I am VERY happy with the outcome, and should be watching my movies within the next couple of day.

Thanks again to all who took the time to give me advice in this matter, and particularly to AVS Forum member 'krasmuzik', who helped with some useful info.

So, all's well that ends well.....

You are fortunate.

I have not been so lucky with Optoma. A particular problem has been Ralph Merim, an upper-level supervisor there, who has actually interfered with solution to my bulb issue, rather than helped it. I recommend that Optoma owners who are having problems and are working their way up the line, bypass Mr. Merim and go directly to his boss.

Meanwhile, I've been without TV for two weeks. Here we go...

I am glad you have a good outcome. That mirrors my experience with them. I had a problem with my first 7200 after 1200 hrs. They sent me a brand new one the next day with a new bulb. I am looking forward to them releasing a 1080 pj so I can buy that.

I hope I have the same luck Paul, mines flashing at just over a 1000 hours...
I got the shaft. No trade in/up for the 7200 and the Heisman for help. Figures, ya drop 6K on a Infocus, and I get an email stating its the color wheel and incorrect voltage....hmm..my fault? I don't think so.
