Here's the set-up I'm thinking about. Trying not to over-kill with any single component. Will use the HTPC for OTA digital recording/playback, Streaming video (Hulu, etc) and DVD/Blu-Ray Video storage/playback. Kids will probably put a game or two (or three...) on it.

Aside from a larger drive (which I'll hold off on until I build a media server...2010), any other ideas or observations? Thanks

Do you use a HDMI receiver?

I do have an HDMI receiver, but it's in the home theater. This unit will be in the living room with the Samsung 55" (using the tv's speakers for now). Curious why you asked? Oh, and your guide to building an HTPC is awesome. Took me 2 weeks to get through it, lots of great info.

Because GTX 260 supports only S/PDIF pass-through (stereo LPCM, DD/DTS bitsreamin) over HDMI, but that's good for you TV/speakers.

Yes, but ... unless you are an audiophile, I recommend Radeon HD 4870 instead (good gaming performance, 7.1 LPCM HDMI audio).
