I installed some additional lighting in the HT, wired through a dimmer switch. Now, whenever the lights are on, there is a noticable humming coming from the projector. It's worst when the lights are actually fading or ramping up, but even in the full on position, the hum is still there. No hum when the switch is off.

I've tried a couple of different switches, different circuits, etc. My 10HT is on a Furman surge protector.

I'll work to get rid of the hum, but is this damaging to my projector in anyway. I could probably live with it, but I don't want to potentially screw up my good 'ol 10HT.

Thanks!

Have you tried switches that claim to have RFI suppression? I had problems with the cheap switches my contractor installed but replaced them with decent Lutron switches and it solved the problem (wasn't pj related, though).

Edit: I actually used Leviton switches but both brands claim RFI suppression.

I'll continue to try different switches, but right now I'm more worried about the effects on my projector!
