Integra 6.6 upgrade?

388 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  MrMky
I currently have a pre 2000 Kenwood with out any preouts. I am just starting to build a home theater system, my first project is a 15" sub. I'm looking for a receiver with preouts to run at least a couple of sub amps and possibly others down the road. I'm looking at a used one tomorrow, the owner claims it is in immaculate condition and is asking $120. Is this a good deal? Any issues I should be aware of besides the lack of hdmi connectivity?

This might not be the proper place for asking, but I haven't gotten any response from Receivers & Amps. Maybe it's just too old?

You failed to mention which receiver you are looking at? Heck, for $125 I would get a Yamaha RX-V663. It has HDMI, pre-outs for both subwoofer and LCR's plus surrounds, room correction software, plus it does all the new audio codecs such as Dolby Digutal True-Hd and DTS-MA!

I actually have one of these units for sale. If you are interested. Please feel free to PM, or these same units can be found on EBay for a decent price.
Oops, the Integra DTR 6.6 is the one I was asking about. I think it has everything mentioned other than hdmi, and it's rated down to a 4 ohm load.
