Thinking about picking one of these up. Would link with my Onkyo C7030 cd player. Anyone have one? Wondering how the WRAT amp sounds? I'm wanting some punchy bass and full clear sound. I have a Marantz SR4021 now and like it a lot except it seems the bass is a little on the lean side.

100 wpc. Seems solid.

I have the 5.3 and it's not bad. Compared to higher end amps its bass can be a little mushy, but seeing as how I scored it at a thrift for $30 I've no complaints. It really wasn't until I replaced it with a NAD C375BEE that I saw its shortcomings. If you can pick one up at a good price I'd go for it.

I have a dtm 5.9 here. They say good with 4ohms and the sound is pretty decent.
I like the wrat theory but specs show nothing really wide as far as i could tell. It does sound pretty wide though. Relatively smooth with a good non fatiguing treble and pretty extended bass. I think its niche is a non digital situation of course as a remote tuner, cd or phono amp in a low tech business environment, garage, or basement away from the TV.
