For those of you that don't follow slashdot (/.) religiously (you don't?!?!) :) they posted a story today about a fella that decided to roll his own PVR . Though quite primitive, It looks interesting. Might this be a viable alternative for those times when a scheduling conflict and the lack of a 2nd tuner in the Replay make you agonise over what you will record and what you will have to try and race home to watch?

So, is there a place for this in the Replay world? Some way to use this to enhance/leverage your Replay TV/Home entertainment setup? Comments?

PS: Slashdot is known for it's "slashdot effect" that can inadvertently take sites down from excessive visits. If this happens, the site may not be available. If anyone needs it, I have a copy of the text portion of the site and can post it if desired.

It's coming though. The current PV's prove what can be done with "cheap" (no disrepect intended) bits of hardware. It won't be long before PC's can really do this, better.......
