Check out the thread on rec.video and alt.dbs.echostar about the showstopper.

Thread name: Don't buy a Panasonic ShowStopper (ReplayTV) until

In it, a person (Tom DeGraw) who claims to be affiliated with Panasonic vehemently denies any difference in MacroVision functionality between current ReplayTV units and ShowStopper units. Is he ignorant, or is he right?

Just checked a.d.e and couldn't find a post on this subject from a Tom DeGraw. I would have remembered it since I did respond to this topic a couple of times.

I just read the Deja thread, what an idiot! What kinda fool puts his real name and company affiliation in his posts when he obviously doesn't know the first thing about what he's talking about? Can you imagine if one of the ReplayXXX guys started going off about something like that, when it's obvious that everyone else seems to know more about it than he does.

Note to Replay guys: How about placing a call to your friends over at Panasonic and finding out if this guy's for real, and if he is, point out the Deja thread to his bosses.
