Stopped in at Best Buy looking for telephones today and browsed by the TV section (like always) to say hi to the Samsung HLN43 they've got on display. They were showing a football game and I noticed definite interlacing artifacts (jagged edges between the football players and the field when they ran downfield or when the QB's arm pivoted in a pass, for example). The signal was coming in on component 1. I'm confused--shouldn't the Faroudja in the Samsung be doing pull-down reversal as it converts to 720p, thereby removing those artifacts? What am I missing here?
