UPDATE in third post- more in depth analysis of problems.


I am considering buying a used unit with the seller saying it has "intermittent power." Is this a common problem for this unit and is it fixable. Easy fix?

I went ahead and bought it.


here is what is going on more in depth:


unit powers on fine.


occasionally will lose LCD display and will not come back on even after many power off and ons and unplugs- and not able to adjust volume. still able to play CD player with sound coming out of speakers- did not test other input functionality. still able to change between inputs. ** the LCD display will show up for a second when i change inputs and try to adjust volume (ex. i move the volume or input selector and the lcd briefly shows up for a second with each movement of the dial.


problem seems to resolve if i cycle through the speaker set button....a, b, a+b, off.


is this problem making any kind of sense? Please let me know if I need to clarify.
