I'm having a bit of a problem getting audio from my Sony SAT-A5 to my soundcard. I'm currently viewing my DSS through an IO Magic PCVR card and dscaler (looks good too!) but the audio is being passed directly from the dss receiver to my altec lansing speakers, bypassing the sound card. The problem with is that when I record a program off of dss i cant get any audio. Ive tried hooking up my dss audio (2 rca) to the line in of the soundcard using a RCA to stereo mini plug but no go. Anyone have an idea what i can do?

Thanks,

Paul

You would need to select your sound card for the audio capture device in your video recording software if you are inporting your sound to your sound card and using either s-video or composite video connections to your IOmagic card. OR you can run an RF connection from your sat into the IOmagic card in which case both audio and video are running through that single cable.

hope that helps

Paul,

Bring up the configuration dialog and select LineIn for Audio Capture Device in VIA tab.

I am using your configuration and works fine for me.

If you need, I can mail you my screen captures for the correct setting.

Gireesh.
